Diagnóstico e manejo de lesões reativas orais: Aspectos essenciais para o dentista

Objetivo: O objetivo desta revisão de literatura é descrever as características relevantes das lesões reativas (proliferações não-neoplásicas) mais prevalentes na cavidade oral. Revisão de Literatura: as lesões reativas são aumentos de volume benignos decorrentes de um trauma crônico e de baixa intensidade que provoca uma resposta tecidual exuberante no tecido conjuntivo, onde um processo inflamatório induz a proliferação de fibroblastos e fibras colágenas. A hiperplasia fibrosa inflamatória, o granuloma piogênico, a lesão periférica de células gigantes, o fibroma ossificante periférico, o fibroma de células gigantes e o neuroma traumático são lesões com características histopatológicas específicas, mas com aspecto clínico similar. Seu tratamento é realizado por meio de remoção cirúrgica, sendo essencial a eliminação dos fatores irritativos para não ocorrer a recidiva. Conclusão: As lesões reativas são de natureza benigna, sendo fundamental o seu conhecimento por parte do cirurgião-dentista, uma vez que essas lesões são muito prevalentes e, em alguns casos, são clinicamente similares a neoplasias.Downloads
